Disney Villians Box – Wily Fox Vintage

Wily Fox Vintage has to be the best UK supplier for all things you’ll remember from your childhood if you grew up in the late 80s/early 90s.
I’ve been following her instagram account for a while now and promising myself a treat …or maybe one for the kids but it wasn’t until I saw this Disney Villians Box that I knew I had to have it . Especially as it was the last one in stock !!!!

At £25 it is on the upper end scale price wise of mystery boxes but worth every penny for the contents and quality are unbeatable in terms of value.

It certainly didn’t disapoint with some fab Primark items from its Team Bad range – including this travel cup , a rather gorgeous Evil Queen mug shot make up case and a Maleficent plaque.

This was great for me because although the town is live in does have a Primark, we rarely get the cool disney accessories and I either have to traispe to Canterbury for even a sniff or pay ridiculous prices on eBay .

Other items included a vintage Hades pin from Hercules  who I happen to think has to be one of the funniest disney villians – I loved how his flame hair would go red when in temper!

To go with the Evil Queen theme was a fantastic card of her disguised as the Old Hag offering an apple with the caption “cake is safer” – whoever thought that up is a genuis in my eyes 😂

Last but not least was  Ursulas seashell necklace from The Little Mermaid as well as a mini Ursula TsumTsum.

The beauty of these boxes are although you have a vague idea of what you will receive judging by the picture – the contents may vary – therefore the TsumTsum , the pin, the make up case may all be different.

These aren’t the only boxes she does either : Beauty and the Beast , Star Wars, Harry Potter and more are just a few of the selection she has and she often does flash sales on her items which means you can pick up a bargain too !

The thing I love most is she’s a UK seller and she doesn’t overcharge on her items, she’s a small business but you can tell she puts a lot of love and effort into it … I was so impressed with my box I ll happily admit I often (read daily) check out her instagram and website to check what’s new and have already made a second purchase knowing full well I will again in the future .

Glam Planning : April Mystery Box

image

Selection of pink themed goodies from April's box

Another month, another mystery box !

Now,  you know my latest obsession is glam planning and I ll admit I had to wait a while from this one from Stickerella creations on Etsy but that is because it came all the way from America!

I ll also admit that I paid more than I normally would due to p&p but I don’t regret a single penny!

This month’s theme was jam packed, featuring gorgeous pink themes which added a romantic tone to my planner and I personally adored.

Also some lovely mermaid themed stickers were included, a cute post it note, washi tape and special dates !!!

image

I spent a fun fuelled evening creating my own weekly plan using these and am very happy with the result. The quality of the stickers are top notch.

image

Another feature I liked, is stickerella also collaborates with other sticker makers and features their stickers too – this little treat was beautifully packaged in an envelope with the sticker Happiness Inside and a discount code to use in the shop.

image

If you are USA based I’d definitely recommend checking Stickerella out on Etsy and also her Facebook page – I’d love to buy more from her but  at the moment with finances tight I can just look and dream x

What’s in the box?

image

I was very flattered to receive a tweet from fellow blogger RaisieBay inviting me to add my blog of my March Not Shabby Very Chic mystery box.

RaisieBay has a great blog idea of all the subscription addicts posting their links to what they received that day/week/month so there is a one page you can go to and check out what others are getting and whether it’s worth subscribing.

A kinda visual try before you buy if you like.

Its updated every Friday with new links, new unboxing s etc – this week’s edition  has introduced me to the world of Weekend Box and the Sassy Kids Box.

So if you want to know what s in these boxes but don’t want to trawl the Internet,  pop over to RaisieBay where the hard work is done for you !

But beware , these boxes may severely damage your bank account  😉

Mystery Boxes

My latest obsession is scouring the Internet for mystery boxes – ever since a friend mentioned she had a glossy box subscription I’ve been intrigued,  and feel the need to have one if not all I’ve ever clapped eyes on in my life.

Imagine,  it’s like your birthday /Christmas rolled into one – once a month and you never know what you ‘ll receive !!!

So here’s a round of the best mystery boxes I ve found on the Web,  the ones I would consider subscribing to or already have 😉

Glossy Box

image

The one that started it all in terms of my obsession – personally recommended by a friend who raved about the five products worth £44 she received once a month for the very reasonable price of £10 plus p&p.

Personally,  I adore the packaging, it’s classy and elegant and looks a joy to open.

The products themselves are all rated 4 or 5 stars and come in shades and tones you’d actually use rather than donate to charity.

This is definitely on my list of boxes to subscribe to and I know a few people who’d adore to receive one as a gift. My sister, in particular, who’s a beautician and is an advocate of the latest top brands.

The subscription service as I’ve previously mentioned starts from £10.00 a month though longer subscription s actually work out better value for money.

Perfect!

This is actually top of my list for my birthday next month but I need to get my order in quick as they are strictly limited to 400 per month.

Of all the boxes I ve seen online these have to be the ones that I would literally sell my soul for.

Luckily I don’t have to because boxes start from £10 a month 😉

There are three to choose from :

image

Paperhaul – containing postcards, washi tape, stickers and much more

Crafty Creatives – an all inclusive craft project once a month

And

Candy Chaos

image

A one off buy any time mystery sweet box containing surprise sweets and candy from all over the world.

This is one my kids would love to do an epic unboxing for our family Facebook and Tumblr Blogs TeamMadPaine but also one that I’d love to try having a sweet tooth myself.

The appeal of this box is obvious,  sweets ,  international sweets !!! I mean who hasn’t come back off of holiday with foreign sweets? There’s just something so cool trying products not readily available in the UK.

We’re talking Twinkies and Hershy bars ….. I’m drooling at the thought

And again you don’t have to subscribe monthly , prices start from  £12.99 for a small box containing 5-7 items !

Diversions

My first foray into the world of mystery boxes has been a very good one courtesy of Diversions UK.

image

Looking for a present for the other half’s birthday and wanting to try out these mystery boxes,  I was struggling to find one that a) you didn’t need to buy a subscription for and  b) was based in the UK and could deliver quickly.

Surprisingly,  I found the answer on  Ebay courtesy of Diversions. I ‘ ll be totally honest ,  the picture of the item wasn’t overall appealing ,  a poster advertising it’s website which when typed actually didn’t work 😯

But the product description of a box of seven mystery items containing a first edition star wars pop vinyl figure and t-shirt was intriguing.  And the price with delivery at  £21.98 was reasonable.

I decided to check them out and I’m  glad I did ! Finding the online shop courtesy of the Depop app I found out it was genuine and stocked a fantastic range of pop culture items from Dr Who, the walking dead, American horror Story – in fact I joined Depop just to heart all the items I want – my favourite past time😉

So I ordered and waited and wow!  amazingly fast delivery,  it took three days ….big tick in my book.

Of course I couldn’t wait until my other half s actual birthday and the parcel was addressed to me …so just a tiny peek !!!

The brown box in front of me had Diversions brilliant logo – I mean just look at it ! I’m not a geek and I’m geeking out !

Batman, Marvel, Dr Who – this is a cool logo – top marks there!

I was beyond excited then slightly deflated .

The packing addressed to me was the mystery box ,  meaning that if I was to give this as a gift then I’d have to source another box to put the stuff in – a mystery box which was just a cardboard box cut down to size – not very attractive to be honest ,  I would have paid more for packaging for a separate box wrapped up.  But this was literally the only negative.

image

The mystery box itself contained as promised 7 items .

* A First Edition Pop Vinyl Snow   Trooper from Star Wars

* A Rocket Raccoon mini figure

* A cool cocktail card with recipe for a bloody Mary

* A key chain of a car illustrated like one of those old car manual pictures

* A  Penguin Classics luggage label

* A set of eight Star Wars coasters worth £5.99

And finally

* A funny Star Wars t-shirt with chewbacca and a storm troopers heads imposed on a couple hugging

image

I was impressed ,  each item was of top quality and  more importantly,  I knew the other half who is notoriously difficult to buy for would actually love this gift. Especially the t-shirt.

Even my two children who got a peek were eyeing up the contents with stars in their eyes.

Overall, this mystery box from Diversions was a fantastic buy, top quality , decent price and I would definitely recommend them (actually i already have ) and buy items from them again.

So if you are based in the UK and want a one off mystery package , a unique gift and you know someone who d love the surprise element then you can’t go wrong with these guys.

If it wasn’t for the few minor details and believe me compared to it overall they are minor ,  these would definitely get a 5 star rating from me. However,  with the blips in mind they get a very happy and deserved 4

You can check out Diversions for yourself on Depop and also Facebook
as well as keep up to date with them on twitter.
